About

Integrate Clinical Psychology & Psychotherapy

Integrate Clinical Psychology & Psychotherapy is an organisation made up of experienced clinical psychologists who specialise in psychodynamic psychotherapy.

Clinical Psychologists

Clinical Psychologists are fully qualified Doctors of Clinical Psychology (D.Clin.Psy). They are registered with the UK regulatory body, the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), ensuring that their practice is conducted in accordance with their codes of conduct and to a stringent level of ethical responsibility. You can search for your psychologist on the HCPC’s online register here.

Clinical Psychologists are one of the few types of therapist whose title is legally protected in the UK. They are trained to work in a range of therapeutic modalities, including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), systemic therapy and psychodynamic therapy. They work with people across the lifespan and in a variety of NHS and research settings such as inpatient, community teams, primary care and on research trials. Clinical Psychologists also carry out their own research which ensures that they are up to date with the most current theoretical developments and empirical evidence in their fields.

Our Clinical Psychologists

Our Clinical Psychologists continue to work at a senior level - as Principal Lead Clinical Psychologists - in the NHS, alongside private practice. They specialise in offering Psychodynamic psychotherapy, which is an evidence-based form of therapy that is effective in treating emotional difficulties and a wide range of mental health difficulties and distressing experiences such as depression, anxiety, relationship difficulties, eating difficulties and sexual difficulties, amongst many others. This kind of therapy looks at the underlying issues and causes of your problems. In your sessions you are encouraged to speak freely and to look more deeply into your worries and difficulties. One difference from other forms of therapy, such as Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), is that it has an aim to help people make lasting changes in their personality and lives, alongside a relief of troubling symptoms. Sessions are at a regular time every week and you may be in treatment for several months or years. Whether this approach is the right one for you rests on a variety of factors and would be something to work together with your therapist to understand in your consultation meetings.  If you would like to read more about psychodynamic psychotherapy you can do so here.

As well as being HCPC-registered, at Integrate our Clinical Psychologists are also Chartered Psychologists and Associate Fellows of the British Psychological Society, both titles attesting to a high-level of training and experience in the fieldWe feel very strongly that therapists should understand themselves well in order to help others, and for that reason, our Clinical Psychologists have their own intensive therapy - 4/5 times weekly psychoanalysis. Additionally, they receive regular individual supervision by senior Clinical Psychologists who are also experienced Psychoanalytic Psychotherapists or Psychoanalysts.
